If registration is not completed within this timeframe, all warranties will be prorated to the date of manufacture. The physical mailing address is 610 Lincoln Ave NW, Huron, SD, 57350
Limitations of the DT Warranty
DT does NOT warrant components not manufactured by DT. Therefore, this warranty does NOT cover axles and axle components, tires, wheels, couplers, jacks, suspension components, springs, lights, paint (including chipping, fading, and aging), accessories, or any other component not manufactured by DT. If these items are warranted by the manufacturer or supplier thereof, and a warranty may be extended to the purchaser, DT will make such warranties available.
Exclusions of the DT Warranty
- Normal wear on any item will not be subject to a warranty. Normal wear items include brakes, tires, bearings, axle seals, light bulbs, and fading or cracking of flooring, but are not limited exclusively to these items.
- Any damage done due to a lack of good industry maintenance, such as improper bearing adjustment, incorrect air pressure, lug nut torque, etc., will also not be covered by the DT Warranty.
- Any damage to the frame, axles, tires, or any other component due to overloading or abuse is not covered under the warranty.
- Coatings offered by DT are for aiding the longevity of the trailer. Coatings in high rub/pivot areas and areas that receive direct impact of road elements that are directly in line with the rear tires of the tow vehicle are not covered under the warranty. Coatings that have been cut, scraped, peeled, or not maintained are not covered under the warranty.
- Damage or failure resulting from:
- A) any misuse, including overloading, improper loading, negligence, alteration, or accidents,
- B) inadequate maintenance, including loose nuts, bolts, screws, or improperly torqued wheel lug nuts,
- C) use of underrated or incorrect hitch equipment, including the hitch ball, pintle, or improper hitching,
- D) towing a trailer that exceeds the tow vehicle manufacturer’s specific towing limitations.
- Inconvenience, loss of time, loss of trailer use, loss of revenue, rental or substitute equipment costs, or any other loss or cost, including travel time and expenses, such as food, fuel, lodging, etc., incurred to obtain warranty service.
- Over time, labor rates, service calls, towing charges, expediting, freight, or transportation costs.
- Trailers used for rental are not covered under this limited warranty.
Actions, Events, or Other Occurrences Which Render the Warranty Void
This Limited Warranty is void and does not apply if the trailer has been subjected to:
- Negligence (including but not limited to failure to provide reasonable and necessary maintenance), accident, abuse, misapplication, or misuse.
- Improper loading, including but not limited to loading more than the stated carrying capacity of the trailer or failing to properly balance a load.
- Any modifications, alterations, or repairs not using DT-approved parts, without prior knowledge and written consent of DT. In the event of a defect in material or workmanship covered by this warranty, DT will:
- Correct the defective work or replace the defective parts on a no-charge basis at our plant location, reimburse the purchaser by paying a sum not exceeding the price charged by DT for such work, or
- Provide for the repair of the defect or replacement of the defective parts by an authorized shop.
Labor amounts will be determined from the flat rate shop manual, not to exceed $75.00 per hour. It is the sole decision of DT to determine the best method of repair.
To Obtain Service
Contact an authorized DT dealer to open a warranty claim. Your dealer will contact DT to obtain authorization before any work is done. DT will service all claims, but will not accept liability for repairs made without approval. All warranty work needs to be pre-approved by DT. We encourage technicians to contact DT during the troubleshooting process to minimize downtime and labor costs. Many times, our technicians can troubleshoot problems over the phone.
Registration
Your trailer must be registered to validate your purchase date and process any warranty request. You may register at any time; however, if we cannot validate your purchase date, your warranty period will commence on the date of manufacture. Warranty registration is available through your dealer or on the web at www.drive-trailers.com. Another benefit of timely registration is to be sure you receive safety and other notices.
All Warranty repairs must be pre-authorized by DT BEFORE any reimbursements shall be made. DT will likely require photographs of items that are thought to be defective to approve reimbursements.
All freight charges to or from the factory or pre-authorized repair facility are the responsibility of the purchaser. All freight is exempt from warranty.
This warranty does NOT cover any economic loss, including but not limited to payment for the loss of time or pay, inconvenience, loss of trailer use, lodging bills, trailer rental expense, meals, storage charges, and other incidental or consequential loss or damage of a similar nature.
This warranty will be void if the trailer is damaged due to overloading, negligence, or misuse. Without prior approval, any modifications or alterations to any product or part manufactured by DT will void the warranty in its entirety. Weights, dimensions, capacities, and other measures stated in connection with the new trailer are only estimates and are not covered by this warranty.
